OKLA. CITY —
Youth Leadership Oklahoma recently announced the selection of its Youth Leadership Oklahoma Class XIII.
“Leadership Oklahoma is very excited about the 52 people chosen for this year’s program,” said Lee Anne Stone, Youth Leadership Oklahoma director. “YLOK Class XIII is an outstanding blend of student leaders selected from across the state.”
Edmond-area members of Class XIII and their respective high schools are: Luke Boughan, Deer Creek; Grey Howard, Edmond Memorial; Kyle Story, Edmond North; and Gabe Thompson, Edmond Memorial.
A class is selected each year through a competitive process based on proven leadership, geographic, ethnic and cultural diversity. Selected students participate in a week-long trip across the state of Oklahoma where they learn about Oklahoma’s history, culture, issues and leaders where they begin to develop a greater understanding and appreciation for our state. YLOK was created in 2001 with the mission to develop in young leaders who feel hope, pride and a responsibility for Oklahoma’s future. More than 600 students have participated in this program. Leadership Oklahoma’s CEO is Ann Ackerman.
