The Edmond Sun
On April 26, the chemistry department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison recognized outstanding undergraduate and graduate students at the 2013 Student Awards Ceremony. Thanks to the generous support of alumni and friends of the department, whose gifts make the departmental scholarships and fellowships possible, the event recognized about 70 students for their outstanding achievements in chemistry teaching and learning, research and outreach. This year’s award-winners included Benjamin Van Domelen of Edmond.
Van Domelen, a student in the College of Engineering, also was recognized on the spring Dean’s List. Students who achieve at a high level academically are recognized by the dean at the close of each semester. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, students must complete a minimum of 12 graded degree credits in that semester.
