EDMOND — Parents, students and teachers gathered in the Orivs Risner Elementary gym for some math fun on Oct. 1.
A school-wide Estimation Station allowed parents and students to estimate the weight of a pumpkin. Jana Huff, parent of Mattie Huff, won the estimation station and was awarded the pumpkin.
Each grade level hosted a station of math games which varried from easy card games that reinforced addition and multiplication to the new Frog Games that were recently purchased school-wide with Title I money.
Students taught their parents the math games and spent quality family time together. Families answered questions and added their name on the “Wall of Graphs” in the appropriate location.
The school had approximately 200 parents and students in attendance. Officials expressed hope they cold repeat the activity and focus on other content areas.
