EDMOND — Caleb Paine, 14, a member of Boy Scout Troop 11 in Edmond, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He is the son of Karrie Paine and Troop 11 Assistant Scoutmaster Wray Paine.
For his Eagle Project, Caleb built a trail at Martin Nature Park.
“I like finishing a difficult project,” Caleb said.
This project involved 116 total hours. Caleb supervised 12 scout volunteers and four adult volunteers while the path was being built.
He joined Cub Scouts with Tulsa’s Pack 778 as a second-grader in the fall of 2002 and crossed over into Boy Scouts in 2005. He has earned a total of 31 merit badges and has served as quartermaster, librarian, chaplain’s aide, assistant patrol leader and patrol leader.
Home schooled, Caleb says he loves to camp.
He has attended summer camp at Hale Scout Reservation the last three years. His high adventure trip to New Mexico in May included Class 4 white water rafting.
“I really liked my trip to New Mexico because it was a new experience,” Caleb said.
He is a freshman and is part of the Christian Fellowship Home School Co-op. An avid outdoorsman, Caleb enjoys agriculture, camping, hunting and fishing. He worships at Faith Bible Church in Edmond.
Caleb was awarded the rank in a Court of Honor on Oct. 3 at Waterloo Road Baptist Church, along with three other Scouts in his troop who were awarded this rank.
Troop 11, which was organized and is led by home school families, meets twice a month at the Waterloo Road Baptist Church in Edmond. First-graders can join Tiger Cubs. Cub Scouts is for boys ages 7-11. Boys ages 11-18 participate in Boy Scouts.
