Lilyfield reschedules ‘Dunks for Diapers’

Special to The Sun

EDMOND — Lilyfield Christian Adoption and Foster Care has rescheduled its Dunks for Diapers event.

Lilyfield holds a diaper drive with the Oklahoma Christian University Women’s basketball team to benefit foster children. Anyone bringing diapers, wipes or new baby items for ages 0-24 months will gain free admission to the women’s game versus Lubbock Christian University, which will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Eagles’ Nest on the campus of Oklahoma Christian in Edmond.

“This will allow us to give foster families much-needed necessities when they receive placement of a foster child. Often placements happen with little notice and the child may come into a foster home with nothing but the clothes they are wearing,” said Holly Towers, executive director of Lilyfield Christian Adoption and Foster Care.

A table in the lobby will be available with representatives from Lilyfield to help you learn more about how you can make a difference in the life of a foster child or to make monetary donations.

Lilyfield Christian Adoption and Foster Care is an adoption and foster care agency providing comprehensive services to women in unplanned pregnancies and couples wishing to grow their families. Lilyfield provides women in crisis pregnancies a place to turn to for guidance.

In 2008, the agency began serving infants and young children in state custody by placing them with loving foster families. Since its inception in 2000, Lilyfield has served more than 600 birth-mothers and placed more than 200 children in loving Christian homes.
