At Monday’s Edmond Board of Education meeting, the school board unanimously approved the bid for the sound system for the school district’s competition pool complex.
Three firms from Oklahoma City and Tulsa submitted their bids, including AVL Systems of Edmond for $49,956.55, All Media Integration for $52,112.81 and Ford AV for $61,663.
Bret Towne, associate superintendent with Edmond Public Schools, recommended the bid be awarded to AVL Systems of Edmond since the company has completed several projects for the school district in recent years.
“District schools who have used their services are pleased as well with the quality of work they provide,” as stated in the document Towne presented to the school board.
The school board awarded the bid for AVL Systems of Edmond in the consent agenda.
The project will be paid from residual bond funds.
According to the agenda, the pool is expected to be occupied in mid December. The pool is in Mitch Park and is a joint project with the City of Edmond and the YMCA.
