Six of the 48 students named by the Oklahoma State University Alumni Association as OSU Seniors of Significance for the 2012-2013 academic year are from Edmond.
The Seniors of Significance Award recognizes students who have excelled in scholarship, leadership and service to campus and community and have brought distinction to OSU.
The 48 students represent six OSU colleges and seven states. The winners and their families were honored Nov. 19, at the Conoco Phillips OSU Alumni Center.
The six Edmond Seniors of Significance are:
Kathryn Caudill, a sociology major, is the daughter of Elizabeth Caudill. During her time at OSU, Kathryn served as a member of all three branches of the Student Government Association and volunteered her time with Stillwater Domestic Violence Services. She was named a Humphreys’ Scholar for Study Abroad and spent a semester in England. Kathryn was also involved in the OSU English Language Institute as a teaching assistant.
Anna Geary, a strategic communication major, is the daughter of Keith and Joni Geary. During her time at OSU, Anna was involved in the College of Arts & Sciences Student Council, Blue Key Honor Society, Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law club, Order of Omega and a national women’s fraternity. She served as a teaching assistant for the School of Media and Strategic Communica-tions and is on the founding team for a new Christian retreat for OSU students called Rooted.
Meaghan Hoose, an accounting and management major, she is the daughter of Mark and Debbie Hoose. During her time at OSU, Meaghan served as the Panhellenic Council external vice president and the Freshman Follies executive director. She was also a Spears School of Business Ambassador and a member of the Student Government Association Executive Council.
Amy Pitts, a music education major, is the daughter of Mary Wagoner and Ken Pitts. During her time at OSU, Amy served as a section leader for the OSU Concert Chorale and the Women’s Chorus. She dedicated her time as a work-study student at the WONDER-torium and was involved in a national Panhellenic sorority;
Kylie Roper, an accounting major, is the daughter of Randy and Tamara Roper. During her time at OSU, Kylie was named a Spears School of Business Scholar Leader and served on the Business Student Council as banquet chair and social chair. She served as the Chi Omega Executive Board secretary and the Beta Alpha Psi membership chair.
Hannah Underwood, a child and family services major, is the daughter of Mike and Jamie Underwood. During her time at OSU, Hannah served as the Varsity Revue assistant executive director and was the National Women’s Fraternity new member coordinator. She was named an OSU Research Scholar and was an OSU recruitment counselor.
“This group represents approximately one percent of the senior class and OSU’s best with their involvement in numerous service and leadership organizations,” said Larry Shell, OSU Alumni Association president. “We are honored to recognize them for their achievements and support them as they prepare to join the OSU alumni family.”
