The Edmond Memorial got some key wins in the higher weight classes to rally past Southmoore on Thursday night. The ‘Dogs got pins from Caleb King, Ry Huff and Landon Jones late in the dual, and held on for a 38-34 victory.
“They gave tremendous effort,” Memorial coach Darren Huff said. “Hopefully some of our guys learned they just have to do what it takes to compete and keep working hard.”
Memorial finished the night with five falls and a technical fall. Reed Fuller (103), Brandon Green (112), Austin Pickle (119), Huff (189) and Jones (215) each earned a pin. King (160) won his match with a 16-0 technical fall.
The ‘Dogs started the game with three first period falls, but lost the next five matches.
Sean West finally snapped the skid with a 9-5 decision at 152-pounds. The ‘Dogs then took five of the last six matches to earn the dual victory.
