Austen Fuller fired a 2-over par 72 on Thursday at the OGA Oak Tree Junior Classic earning medalist honors, defeating three players by one stroke.
Fuller finished the tournament at 4-over.
Jackson Ogle, Clark Collier and Jordan Domek each finished at 5-over.
Fuller entered the back nine at 3-over for the round, but picked up a birdie on No. 17 to separate himself from the field.
Jackson Dean finished tied for fifth with Clayton Hooper, of Norman, at 9-over.
Taylor Williams, of Chickasha, finished seventh, while Logan Herbst, of Fairview, David McMurry, of Ardmore, and Cole Wiederkehr, of Tulsa, each tied for eighth place at 12-over to round out the top 10.
Colby Vollman and Jeffery Brashears tied for 12th.
RUSK FINISHES 17TH
North senior-to-be Chandler Rusk finished 17th at the PING Phoenix Junior at Moon Valley Country Club, while Santa Fe’s Drew Dorsey placed 23rd.
Rusk was 2-under par for the tournament with rounds of 72-71-71. The Husky was 3-under on the front nine, but had bogeys on hole Nos. 13, 14 and 15. He was nine strokes behind James Back, of Cerritos, Calif., who took medalist honors.
Dorsey carded rounds of 76-70-70 to finish 2-over for the tournament.
The Santa Fe senior-to-be had birdies on hole Nos. 6, 7, 13 and 14. He did have two bogeys.
The tournament had a new leader after every round. The one constant was Landon Tujague, of Dallas, Texas, who finished second. He was in second after each round, and finished 9-under.
O’CONNOR TAKES SIXTH
North’s Greg O’Connor carded an even-par 72 on the final round at the Scissortail Junior Championship at Emerald Falls Golf Club in Broken Arrow.
O’Connor finished the tournament with rounds of 74-73-72.
Cody Kent, of Castle Rock, Colo., won the AJGA event at 2-under.
Purcell’s Nathan Chambers placed third at 2-over.
Kaleb Yates placed 27th, while Landon Morgan finished in a tie for 61st.
