The Edmond Santa Fe softball team had not faced a pitcher like Kaylnn Schrock yet this season. And they were not sure how to handle the Choctaw hurler, who mowed down batters, and handed Santa Fe a 1-0 loss Thursday night in Choctaw.
“(Schrock) is a a good little pitcher, but we need to do a better job putting the bat on the ball,” Santa Fe coach Rhonda Lawson said. “The whole year we haven’t faced anyone who throws as hard as she does.”
The Yellowjackets lone run came in the fourth inning, when a baserunner scored from third on an errant throw.
Santa Fe senior pitcher Evan Gray had a strong outing, allowing just three hits and one unearned run.
The Santa Fe girls will return to action Friday when they host Memorial.
