Memorial boys tops at Dog Pack

DC's Edwards takes first in girls' race

Edmond Memorial’s Eric Talbert, Brian Wilson and Colton Bohanon finished in the top 10 on Friday, helping the Bulldogs win the large school boys’ race at the Edmond Dog Pack Run.

North placed third overall with the help of Adam Godwin’s eighth-place finish. Santa Fe was next at No. 5, and Deer Creek finished seventh overall in the 5k run at Mitch Park.

Talbert set the pace for Memorial, finishing fifth overall with a time of 16:55. Wilson placed seventh, Bohanon took ninth and Caleb Holt finished 18th for the ‘Dogs, who led the way with 74 points.

Also finishing strong for the Huskies were Kyle Costello, who placed 21st overall, Dylan Crawford at 26th place and P.J. Osborn, who was 31st.

Ethan Pollock was the Wolves’ top runner, finishing 12th overall (17:21), Christian Pearson was 19th, Alex Skinner came in 24th and Matt Oesterle was 25th.

The Antlers were led by Dakota Buck, who finished in 20th place at 17:33, and William Kwendi, who was 32nd.

Oklahoma Christian School had four runners finish in the top 10, and easily won the 4A-2A Boys race.

Sam Henry led the way for the Saints, finishing fifth with a time of 19:42. Jon Dubois was sixth, Chris Easterly finished seventh and Caleb Deck was ninth for the Saints.

In the girls action, it was Deer Creek’s Roman Edwards who stole the show, winning the 6A-5A girls race. But the Memorial girls were the top area finisher, placing second overall.

North was next through the gate with 82 points in third place, Deer Creek placed sixth overall and Santa Fe finished ninth in the 3200 meter run.

K.K. Washburn led the way for the Lady ‘Dogs, placing third overall with a time of 12:13. Jill Enge was close behind, finishing fifth overall, Tara Lewis came in 14th place, and Cristina Gonzales rounded out the top 20.

Hannah Helker led the Lady Huskies, finishing in seventh place. Meredith Farley placed 16th overall, while Anna Kimsey and Martha Blaess were right behind at 17 and 18.

Edwards was the top runner, winning the event with a time of 12:09. Deer Creek junior Hillarie Kessler finished 10th.

Shannon Ray was the Lady Wolves top runner, placing ninth overall with a time of 12:38.

Westmoore won the girls’ race with 59 points.

The OCS girls team was led by Ashlyn Rawls, who placed 15th overall in the girls’ 4A-2A race.
