Eagles back at home against Wetumka

After a couple of road trips, the Oklahoma Christian Academy football team will be glad to back at home. The Eagles will take another crack at their first win of the season tonight, when they host Wetumka.

“We’re going to have to play really well to beat them,” OCA head coach Keith Lough said. “This week we looked better in practice and we’ll have a chance to see if we can hold our own.”

Like OCA, the Chieftains (2-3) are looking to get back in the win column, after dropping their last two to Depew and Weleetka.

Offensively, Wetumka runs a similar offense to Kiefer and primarily runs out of the Power I and shotgun sets.

The Chieftains have not fared too well defensively and could be a good matchup for the Eagles offensive, which has struggled in its own right. Lough said the team made some adjustments to their offense this week in practice.

“We tried to put in some new wrinkles, and get something going on offense, just can’t sustain anything,” Lough said. “We’re still struggling to be fundamentally sound on the line and we’ve done a couple of things in practice.”

Lough said he expects a full roster with the exception of Zeke McCune, who is out with an injury.

Kick off is set for 7:30 p.m. at Oklahoma Christian University.
