Memorial girls knock off Norman North

The Edmond Memorial freshman girls got off to a quick start and never looked back against Norman North on Monday night. The Lady Bulldogs (2-0) held the Timberwolves to seven points in the first half and went on to win 40-20.
“We came out tough and aggressive,” Memorial head coach Janet Chartney said. “The team adjusted to a defense that is hard to run.
“I’m very impressed with their desire and hustle.”
Jordan Thomas led the way with 13 points. Kayla Anderson scored seven and Caitlin Aust and Gloria Mosely both added five.
Memorial outscored Norman North 12-7 in the first quarter. In the second quarter the Lady ‘Dogs held the Timberwolves scoreless and led 26-7 at the break. They went on to outscore Norman North 14-13 in the second half to pick up the 20-point victory.
Next up for the Memorial girls will be a Nov. 29 trip to Moore Brink.
