Norman High’s Dupree Young (5) gets pulled down by Edmond Memorial’s Ben Moore Friday during the Bulldogs’ 38-14 victory at Harve Collins Field in Norman Friday night.

The Bulldogs led 24-14 at intermission as a 17-yard field goal by Justin Marchá and a Kourtney Williams 22-yard fumble return got Memorial off to a 10-0 start.

The ‘Dogs snowballed the lead to 24-7 in the second quarter when gunslinger Mick Mayerske found Donovan Nunley loose for a 49-yard bomb.

But Norman’s Sayvon Foley returned the kickoff to the house from 75 yards away to keep the Tigers scratching in the game.

Memorial would not let Norman score again though en route to the 38-14 final.

The Bulldogs’ remaining scores came on another Mayerske touchdown strike, this one 45 yards to Jordan Reed, a Warren Wand four-yard run and a Moore 34-yard fumble return.

Memorial will play at Mustang on Thursday.
