EDMOND — No. 3-ranked Edmond North used a great defensive effort on Tuesday night at the Siberian Gym to win its homecoming game against Yukon 56-38.
“I thought defensively we played almost as well as we could play in the first half. We didn’t give up any offensive rebounds and we kept our focus,” North head coach Kevin Korstjens said. “If they didn’t hit that three pointer at the buzzer, they only had six points for a while there.”
The Lady Huskies (11-1) jumped out to a 29-9 lead at the break and held a 43-18 advantage through three quarters.
North nearly had three players with double-doubles. They were led by Elizabeth Donohoe with 21 points and 12 boards, TaNita Dewberry had 14 points and nine rebounds, while Anna Kimsey finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
