WARR ACRES — The No. 3-ranked Edmond North girls shook off a slow first half start Friday night and pulled out a 61-44 road win over Putnam City.
“We battled foul trouble tonight but got a lot of help from our bench tonight,” North coach Kevin Korstjens said. “This was a really solid win and it keeps us in the conference race.”
Elizabeth Donohoe led the way for North with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Anna Kimsey had a big night with 16 points and nine rebounds and TaNita Dewberry added a double double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
After leading by a point at the end of the first quarter, the Lady Huskies fell behind at halftime 22-21.
Then in the second half it was all North as they grabbed control with a 21-point effort in the third quarter. The Lady Huskies outscored Putnam City 19-15 in the fourth for the win.
Next up for the Lady Huskies is a trip to Mustang on Monday night. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m.
