The Lady Bulldogs of Edmond Memorial picked up another victory on Monday night, tallying seven runs the fifth and sixth innings combined for a comeback conquest over Lawton by a 9-4 count at Edmond Memorial High School.
“We hit the ball right at them; then finally in the fifth inning we found some gaps,” said Bulldog head coach Janet Chartney. “We ended up with 13 hits, which is awesome.
“Kayla Eichler was hot and Jordan DeShazar had a timely hit with the bases loaded (triple).”
Trailing 4-2, Edmond hit the board four times in the last of the fith and three additional times in the sixth to pull away from the Lady Wolverines.
The Lady ‘Dogs outhit Lawton 13-4 as Eichler scored twice and swatted a pair of doubles and teammates Brenlyn McCoy, Maddie Pritchett, Melinda Langley and DeShazar each collected a pair of hits in the win.
McCoy picked up the pitching victory in relief, hurling shutout ball and allowing just a single hit over four innings.
Memorial will partake in the Perry Tournament Thursday through Saturday.
