KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Central Oklahoma had 15 football players receive Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association academic recognition, the conference office announced Friday.

Tyler Newton and Adrian Shoecraft were Scholar-Athlete Award honorees, while Landon Chappell, Micah Goodman, T.J. Eckert, Antonio Jenkins, Thomas Hill, Christian Hood, Tanner Koons, Ryan Kowalewski, Caden Locke, Mason McLaughlin, Connor Pulley, Jas’sen Stoner and Chase Talbert were named to the Academic Honor Roll.

Student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or better and have at least two terms of attendance at the member institution to achieve Scholar-Athlete status, with a 3.00 GPA and two terms of attendance required for the Academic Honor Roll.

Newton, a junior defensive lineman from Moore, and Shoecraft, a senior linebacker from Edmond, were both honorable mention All-MIAA selections earlier this week.
