The Memorial swimming teams finished their dual season Thursday by swimming to easy victories over Harrah on the road. For the girls, Annah Baykal, Katie Kersgieter and Alyx Siemer each won two individual events, with Baykal taking the 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke, while Kersgieter won the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Freestyle. Siemer won the 50 Freestyle and the 100 Breaststroke. Other event winners for the Lady Bulldogs were Natalie Voral in the 500 Freestyle and Ashton Ramer in the 200 Freestyle. Memorial swept the relays as the 200 Medley Relay team of Rachel Parrett, Baykal, Voral and Siemer took gold along with the 200 Free Relay team of Baykal, Siemer, Voral and Kersgieter, and the 400 Free Relay team of Kersgieter, Parrett, Ramer and Voral.
For the boys, Naresh Naik and Zac Cook each took two individual events in their final dual. Naik won the 200 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle, while Cook took the 200 Individual Medley and the 500 Freestyle. Nate Anderson won the 50 Freestyle, and then teamed with Naik, Zac Cook and Bennett Cook to win the 200 Medley Relay, and with Naik, Zac Cook and Tory Scott to win the 400 Free Relay.
“I was very pleased with how the team raced,” said coach Steve Riggs. “Harrah is one of the top boys teams in 5A and gave us several good battles. It was a great way to end the dual season with such a dominating performance.”
