EDMOND — The Memorial Bulldog swimming teams split in their dual with Stillwater Tuesday night at the Stillwater YMCA. The Lady ’Dogs won a convincing win over the Lady Pioneers, while the Memorial boys dropped a close meet to Stillwater.

For the girls, Annah Baykal, Katie Kersgieter and Natalie Vorel each won two individual events. For Baykal it was the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke. Kersgieter won the 200 Freestyle and 400 Freestyle, while Vorel won the 100 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke. The relays all won with the Medley Relay team of Vorel, Hailey Bozeman, Baykal and Alyx Siemer taking gold along with the 200 Free Relay team of Sydney Gregory, Carmen Leibrock, Bozeman and Kersgieter, and the 400 Free Relay team of Kersgieter, Siemer, Vorel and Baykal.

For the boys, Zac Cook and Naresh Naik each won two individual races, with Cook taking the 200 Freestyle and setting a school record in the 400 Freestyle. Naik won the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 Freestyle. Braden Davis won the 100 Breaststroke, and the 200 Free Relay team of Naik, Cook, Kevin Yen and Nate Anderson also was victorious.

“The girls meet was a strong showing,” said coach Steve Riggs. “They won a lot of close races and earned their victory. The boys meet was close and Stillwater’s depth won out even though we won more races.”
