EDMOND — Edmond Memorial, Edmond Santa Fe and Deer Creek are all playing in the Broken Arrow Tournament this week against a regional field.
Santa Fe 0, Fayetteville (Ark.) 3
A combination of walks and errors in the fourth inning staked Fayettevillle, Ark., to a 3-run lead and led to the 3-0 win over Edmond Santa Fe on Thursday.
Connor Sweeney was 2-for-2 at the plate for the Wolves. Three Santa Fe pitchers combined to allow no earned runs, led by Jacob Jerome, who struck out four and allowed four hits and three walks over five innings.
Memorial 0, Broken Arrow 10
Visiting Broken Arrow served up a run-rule shutout to Edmond Memorial Thursday evening. Wade Hanska was 2-for-2 in the losing effort.
Defense was again a sticking point for the Bulldogs, as Memorial fielders committed four errors. Only one run of the eight allowed by Bulldog starter Cody Ebert was earned.
Deer Creek 15, Sterling (Kan.) 0
The Antlers jumped out to a nine-run lead in the first inning against Sterling, Kan., on Thursday. Deer Creek didn’t look back, scoring two in the third and four in the fifth to take a 15-1 win.
Deer Creek’s Ben Heigle pitched the five-inning shutout. He struck out five, walked none and allowed four hits.
At the plate, Cole Lindley led the Antlers with three RBIs and two runs in a 3-for-3 effort. Dylan Rycroft also had three RBIs; Chad Dunlop drove in two. Caleb Eldridge scored three runs, and Aiden Doherty and Jordan Boyer score twice apiece.
Edmond Memorial 6, Tulsa Memorial 2
The Edmond Memorial Bulldogs righted the ship with a 6-2 win over Tulsa Memorial Friday at the Broken Arrow tournament.
The Bulldogs scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning to break a 2-2 tie when Matt Bruner singled and scored on a hit by Jack Hale. Hale would later score, along with Hunter Schellhardt and Colin Simpson.
