The Edmond Sun
It’s always tough playing on the speedy turf at Lawton’s Cameron Stadium.
It is even tougher when Lawton High School’s star running back Michael Warren gets loose.
Warren was too much for Edmond Santa Fe tacklers to contain Friday night, as the Wolverine launched into the end zone five times on jaunts of 21, 39, 55, 63 and 70 yards respectively driving Lawton to a 50-33 decision over the visiting Wolves.
In all, the Wolverines amassed 369 yards rushing to Santa Fe’s healthy 259. With the triumph, Lawton remains undefeated at 7-0 while the Wolves fall to 5-2. Santa Fe will host Norman on Friday.
Despite Wolfpack quarterback Justice Hansen going out with an injury, backup quarterback Keaton Torre managed to throw a couple of touchdown passes, both going to Cameron Westbrook. Westbrook also ran in the pigskin from three yards out and fellow Wolf Michael Farmer got in twice from three yards away.
