The Deer Creek Antlers dominated fellow Class 5A wrestling powerhouse Guthrie at home Thursday night. The Antler grapplers took three wins by fall, two technical falls and four forfeits en route to a 52-25 win.
The roll started with two major decisions by Deer Creek's Tanner Cole and Chance King, who closed out their Bluejay opponents with 15-0 technical fall victories at 106 and 113 pounds, respectively.
After Guthrie's Alex Nelson pinned DC's 120-pound Colton Kesce, the Antlers put more points up with a fall by Brennan Banks over Guthrie's Hunter Betchan at 126 pounds.
Guthrie's Tyler Mahan topped Brennan Smith at 138 pounds, but DC came back with Sean O'Brien's win by fall over Joe Kuruvilla at 152 pounds.
Deer Creek won by forfeit at 132, 145, 160 and 170 pounds. The Antlers would give one back to Guthrie with a forfeit at heavyweight.
Deer Creek state champion Cole Pacheco provided the last Antler win of the night when he pinned Bluejay Cooper Howard at 182 pounds.
Eli Hooks dropped a tight 2-3 bout to Guthrie's Conner Howard at 195 pounds, and Bluejay Cory Douglass pinned Josh Husted at 220 pounds to close out the match.
Deer Creek is set to wrestle Carl Albert at home on Tuesday.
