Russ Purser shot a 3-under-par 69 to lead Central Oklahoma on the final day of the Brickyard Invitational Tuesday as the Bronchos moved up four spots in the team standings in Indianapolis.
UCO had a closing 294 at the par-72 Brickyard Crossing Golf Course to finish in a tie for eighth with a 900 total in the two-day, 54-hole tournament. Barry won 17-team tourney with an 856 total, followed by Central Missouri (858) and Nova Southeastern (875).
Landon Morgan had the best finish for the Bronchos while competing as an individual, tying for sixth with a 1-under 215 total after a final-round 73. He shot 74-68 on Monday’s double round.
Purser’s 69 was the low score by five shots for UCO’s starting five. The Bronchos also got a 74 from Matt Helms, while Joby Gray shot 75, Chris Muriana 76 and Keegan Hall 79.
Central Oklahoma goes to Broken Arrow next Monday and Tuesday for the Northeastern State University Golf Classic.
