Special Olympics Oklahoma to celebrate summer games

STILLWATER — Special Olympics athletes numbering in the thousands will meet in Stillwater May 8-10 for the 44th Annual Summer Games held in Oklahoma. More than 4,300 Special Olympics Oklahoma athletes have registered to compete. Special Olympics Oklahoma staff and thousands of volunteers are gearing up for three days full of competitions,

Opening ceremonies is scheduled for May 8 at OSU Gallagher Iba Arena. The theme for opening ceremonies is “DANCE, DANCE, DANCE!” Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with pre-show entertainment. The official opening ceremonies begins at 7:30 p.m. with the traditional Parade of Athletes.
