The Deer Creek Antlers advanced to the Class 5A State softball tournament on Thursday after a 13-1 win over Western Heights and a pair of 10-0 victories over El Reno.
In the regional championship game at Deer Creek, Tessa Gipson struck out 11 batters in a one-hit shutout and had three RBIs to lead the Antlers.
Meagan Thompson was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run, Hope Martin was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run, and Haley Wells, Bailey Thompson and Macy Snyder each had a pair of runs scored in the final.
In the regional semifinal, also against El Reno, Emily Watson threw a no-hitter and drove in four runs, including a two-run home run. Watson walked one batter, in the fourth inning, but otherwise was perfect, striking out 12 in six innings. She struck out the side in the first and third innings.
In the semifinal, Wells was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored, and Kelsi Williams was 2-for-2 with three runs scored.
Deer Creek topped Western Heights 13-1 in the first game on Wednesday. Jordan Williams, Bailey Thompson and Kelsi Williams each had a pair of RBIs, and Gipson struck out 10 and allowed only two walks and four hits to get the win in five innings.
The Class 5A State tournament is next Thursday through Saturday at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City. Brackets will be released next week.
