Bishop wins back-to-back tournaments

EDMOND — Jacob Bishop, an Edmond Memorial golfer, won the Big I state tournament at KickingBird on June 26.

Bishop posted a 74 in the initial round before coming unglued with a robust 64 for a 138 total.

Edmond’s Austin Eckroat placed second and the pair will represent Oklahoma in the Big I National Tournament in Pinehurst, N.C. Aug. 5-8.

The following day, Bishop, at left in photo, tracked up to Stillwater to win the South Central PGA qualifier at Lakeside Golf Course. This time he hit 60s both days, carding a 69-67 for a 136. The victory sends Bishop to the Junior PGA Championship at Trump National Golf Club in Washington D.C. July 30-Aug. 2.
