ZAP, an Edmond Women’s 3.5 USTA team based out of KickingBird Tennis Center, has had a busy spring and summer by racking up continuous victories.
After triumphing the Oklahoma City 18 and older 3.5 Women’s USTA Division with a record an untarnished record of 13-0, ZAP continued its winning streak by dropping Tulsa on July 21 in the 2013 USTA District Championships.
ZAP, moving up to 15-0 this year, advanced to sectionals in St. Louis Aug. 23-25. It will take on other district champions within the Missouri Valley section of USTA.
“This team has been a joy to be a part of,” stated ZAP captain Sheri Condon. “Everyone has worked hard, practiced and put in the time and effort it takes to improve individually and as a team.
“They have all been such strong, versatile players who have truly given their all to see the team succeed. I am blessed to call them my teammates, but even more blessed to call each of them my friend.
“We have had fun both on and off the courts and have made lasting friendships while playing a game we all love — what more could we ask?
“We are all very excited to represent the state of Oklahoma and the city of Edmond at sectional play in St. Louis.”
