EDMOND — Edmond teams have enjoyed success on the playing field in recent days.
DEER CREEK GIRLS WIN SECOND SPRING TOURNEY
The Deer Creek Lady Antlers won their second straight tournament of the season Monday at The Lady Highlander Invitational at Fort Sill Golf Club in Lawton.
In cold and windy conditions, the team posted a score of 332 to win the team championship by 16 strokes over 6A's Southmoore and 21 strokes over defending 5A state champion Duncan.
Senior Caroline Goodin shot a 76 to tie for first place with Lawton MacArthur senior Michaela Osborn. Goodin won the playoff hole with a birdie to earn individual medalist honors.
Senior Haley Hill shot 81 and finished fourth; junior Emily Folsom carded an 85 to tie for sixth place. Allison Mee and Emma Conrad both finished with a score of 90 to seal the team victory.
The girls won their first tournament in early March at the Guthrie Lady Blue Jay Invitational which they won by 20 strokes. Deer Creek will host the Antler Invitational at Rose Creek Golf Club next on April 2.
ANTLER GOLFERS WIN
The Deer Creek Antler golf team won the Bishop Kelly State Preview by 21 strokes with a team score of 314 recently.
Austin Dobbs led Deer Creek and tied for first overall with a score of 76. Kyle Walkabout shot 77 to tie for fourth place.
Ty Brooking's 79 was good for seventh place; Brady Bellinger shot 82 for 12th place; Daniel Wyatt was 15th with an 83.
NORTH BOYS DOWN PC WEST ON PITCH
The Edmond North boys soccer team traveled to Putnam City West on Monday night for a cold night on the soccer pitch. Edmond North started the match with control on both ends of the field. Trevor Moore scored the first goal for the Huskies in the 18th minute after two near misses. Moore went on to score the hat trick, with three goals in the match.
David Atkins had two saves for the Huskies on both PC West attempts. North’s other 3 goals were scored by Matt Collier, Connor Marsh and Zack Medawattage.
