MANHEIM, Pa. —
No. 3-ranked Central Oklahoma is the third seed and will take on Minot State in the first round of the NWCA/Cliff Keen Division II National Duals, it was announced Tuesday.
The Bronchos, 1-0 on the season, will face the Beavers (1-6) at 11 a.m. Saturday in one of eight opening-round matches at the Prairie Capital Convention Center. The 16-team tournament runs all day Saturday and concludes with Sunday’s 3 p.m. championship finals match.
Other first-round matches have top-seeded Nebraska-Kearney vs. Wisconsin-Parkside, No. 2 Newberry vs. Fort Hays State, fourth-seeded St. Cloud State vs. North Carolina-Pembroke, No. 5 Upper Iowa vs. Kutztown, sixth-seeded Grand Canyon vs. Limestone, No. 7 Notre Dame vs. Augustana and eighth-seeded Findlay vs. Minnesota State-Mankato.
UCO will meet the Grand Canyon-Limestone winner or loser at 3 p.m. Saturday. All UCO matches will be audio webcast live through www.bronchosports.com.
The top nine-ranked teams in the country are in the field, which will also feature 53 of the top 80 individuals.
“It should be a great weekend and we’re looking forward to competing,” said 31st-year head coach David James, whose team has been off since Dec. 9. “We’ve been working really hard the last two weeks or so to get ready for this event and it’s important that we do well.”
The Bronchos went 3-2 and finished sixth in last year’s tournament, which was won by St. Cloud State.
