The Edmond Sun
The Edmond North swimming teams traveled to Texas to take on two Frisco schools and Texas High from Texarkana. The Lady Huskies, top ranked in Oklahoma, had no trouble with the Texas teams, winning all three duals. The North boys defeated Frisco Centennial but lost to Texas High and Frisco Wakeland.
In the girls meet, Ann-Marie Stowe, Ally Robertson and Sydney Cain all won individual events, with Stowe winning the 200 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly, Robertson taking the 200 Individual Medley and 500 Freestyle, and Cain winning the 100 Backstroke. All three Edmond relays were victorious. The 200 Medley Relay consisted of Amanda Greenlee, Jess Graro, Ryanne Vance and Robertson. The 200 Free Relay won with Stowe, Olivia Seefeldt, Vance and Robertson, as did the 400 Free Relay team of Stowe, Greenlee, Cain and Graro.
For the boys, Alan Tran won the 500 Freestyle and Garrett Duncan took the 100 Breaststroke. Duncan has the fastest time this season in Oklahoma.
“It was a fun meet against some good competition,” said coach Steve Riggs. “We have never raced any of these teams before so the swimmers just gave it their best and represented Edmond and Oklahoma well. The experience will certainly help us in the future.”
