EDMOND — Edmond Memorial hosted a Class 6A volleyball regional Thursday and the Lady Bulldogs lived up to the billing.

The ‘Dogs swept both matches, cruising past Moore and then disposing of Putnam City to enter the state tournament on Oct. 18.

“Senior Gillian Howlett had the best performance of her career,” Memorial head coach Natalie Murray lauded. “She recorded 11 kills and two blocks against the Putnam City Pirates.”

Edmond Memorial downed Putnam City 25-16, 25-2, 25-16 for the regional championship, entering state with an 18-14 record.

“Junior Livi Schiffner notched 12 kills and five blocks,” Murray added. “She has consistently recorded these types of numbers and looks to continue her streak in the state tournament.”
