EDMOND — Deer Creek High School has had plenty of memorable trips to the Class 5A state cross country meet, but Saturday was the biggest.
The Deer Creek boys captured their third straight state title, while the Lady Antlers won their first state crown.
Bryce Balenseifen led the way for the Antlers with his second straight individual state championship. The junior cruised past the finish line in 15:47. Drake DiAngelo finished fifth and Blaine Powell came in seventh. Adam Warren, Chandler King and Grant Schatzman also cracked the top 20 for Deer Creek.
Sheri Snyder paced the Lady Antlers with a fifth-place finish in 12:33. Ashton England also finished in the top 10, placing seventh overall.
