EDMOND — The Edmond Santa Fe girls soccer team shut out Putnam City West, 3-0, at home Friday night.
The scoring started in the 32nd minute of the first half, when Santa Fe junior defender Hannah Hover took a pass from senior forward Ceres Veereprame in front of the goal and fired through to the net from about 20 yards out.
Veereprame got on the board herself five minutes later when she scored on an assist from Ivanna Rivas to put the Lady Wolves up 2-0 and conclude the first half scoring.
That score stood until 5:00 left in the second half, when Rivas scored on an assist from Hover.
The Lady Wolves clearly won the game of possession, as the Lady Patriots managed just two shot on goal on the night, both of which were stopped by Santa Fe sophomore keeper Kaitlin Price.
The No. 13 Lady Wolves move to even at 4-4.
The Santa Fe boys are ranked third and 7-1 after Friday’s 4-0 win against PC West.
The Wolves got goals from Matt Guidice, Sam Jacobsen and Myles Moore and assists from Joe Lovett and Shayan Naderpour. Goalkeeper Chris Morgensen stopped three shots.
Santa Fe will visit Putnam City North at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
