The Lions went down in order in their half of the second, and in the third, Matt Bruner singled and later scored to put the Bulldogs up 3-1.
Memorial’s big fifth inning began when Colin Simpson singled to score Jack Hale, and later scored himself when Jones walked with the bases loaded. Caldwell would later score on a Bruner ground-out to put the Bulldogs up 6-1. The teams traded runs in the seventh to bring the final to 7-2.
Parker Rigler, Jared Jones and Hill shared pitching duties for Memorial. Caldwell’s two runs led the Bulldogs at the plate.
WESTMOORE 3, NORTH 2
The Huskies put up two early runs, but gave both back in the seventh inning before falling to Westmoore in the 11th inning.
North got on the board in the second inning, when Cody Daylor was hit by a pitch, advanced to second on a sacrifice and scored on a Justin Reynolds single.
Reynolds tripled to lead off the fourth inning, then scored on a Colton Lagasse single.
