Deer Creek ventures west; accumulates 3 wins

EDMOND — Carl Albert’s Abby Meador had her stuff going on Monday night at Deer Creek, as the Lady Titan whiffed a dozen Antlers in a 7-0 shutout on a 3-hitter.

Deer Creek’s lone hits came from Perri Cole, Kelsi Williams (1-for-2) and Bailey Thompson.

Carl Albert outhit the Lady Antlers, 9-3.

On Tuesday at Western Heights, the pitching turned the tables as Deer Creek’s Emily Watson chunked a 1-hitter at the Jets, bolstering the Antlers to a formidable 9-nothing win. Watson struck out five and did not walk a batter.

Deer Creek tallied three runs in the top of the first inning on a couple of Western Heights errors and run-scoring doubles by Jordan Williams (3-for-3, 2 RBIs) and Kendal Stockstill (1-for-2). Lauren Coleman also batted 1-for-2 and Thompson walked three times and scored three times. Coleman also swiped a pair of bases and Thompson stole three.

On Thursday, the Lady Antlers pummeled Guymon in the panhandle, 9-0 and 11-1 to move to 16-4 on the season. Deer Creek is a perfect 11-0 in district and will host Piedmont Tuesday at 6:30.
