Lady Antlers land in state for first time

EDMOND — Deer Creek hosted its first volleyball regional Tuesday night and it was a winner.

The Lady Antlers dropped Del City and Lawton Eisenhower to advance to the state tournament for the first time in school history. Deer Creek also captured the conference crown and posted the school’s all-time best record at 28-6.

The captain is Taylor Turner with co-captains Jessie Heiden and Caitlin Prather.

“Middle Ellie Anderson played her best match so far this season with a .476 hitting percentage and middle Hannah Hulse played strong defending the net and producing offensively,” Deer Creek head coach Lisa Polcovich said. “I am so proud of all the girls.”

At libero, Quinn Anderson sported 17 digs.
