STILLWATER —
The Oklahoma State University football team will start the defense of its first Big 12 Championship on Sept. 1 against Savannah State at Boone Pickens Stadium.
The Big 12 released its conference schedule and the Cowboys set their season schedule on Tuesday after West Virginia University officially joined the conference for the 2012 season.
The Pokes finished the 2011-2012 season with a 12-1 overall record. They were 8-1 in the Big 12. Oklahoma State defeated Stanford in the Fiesta Bowl to complete its best season in school history.
Oklahoma State’s nonconference foes include Savannah State, Arizona and Louisiana. The Cowboys played Arizona and Louisiana in Boone Pickens Stadium this past season.
OSU opens its Big 12 schedule with Texas. The Longhorns come to Stillwater on Sept. 29.
OSU also plays host to the Big 12’s newest members. TCU comes to Boone Pickens Stadium on Oct. 28 and West Virginia visits on Nov. 10.
