Central Oklahoma had a trio of players named to the Division II PING All-Central Region Team, it was announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Seniors Dillon Rust and Trevor Stafford and freshman Eric Kline all made the 13-player All-Central Region squad after leading the Bronchos to four tournament victories and seven other top-five finishes in 2012-13. Rust is an Edmond Santa Fe alum and Stafford played high school golf at Edmond Memorial.
Rust had a team-best 72.76 scoring average for the season and placed in the top 10 in nine of UCO’s 12 tournaments this year. He was the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association champion in addition to finishing runner-up in the Central/Midwest Regional Tournament and seventh in the NCAA Division II Championships.
Stafford ended the year with a 74.59 average and four top-five tournament finishes. He won the Missouri Southern Invitational and was runner-up to Rust in the MIAA Tournament.
Kline had an immediate impact as a rookie and finished with a 75.07 average. He finished in the top 10 four times, capped by a championship effort in the Missouri Western Central Region Invitational.
