The Edmond Sun
Edmond North’s defense keeps pushing the Lady Huskies higher in the district standings.
Pitching yet another shutout Tuesday at North High School, Edmond North blanked Moore 4-0 for a perfect 3-0 district mark.
“Defense as a whole played well once again,” Lady Husky coach Corbin Frank noted. “Senior Shanna Rolfs and junior Chandler Wilson led the way, keeping Moore from ever really threatening the goal.”
On offense, Gia Nellius hit both the game’s second and final goal of the evening. The third goal was hit by Haley Felix with an assist from Abbey Bright.
North’s Kori Freeman opened the scoring, all that was needed for the Lady Huskies.
In the nightcap, junior Jacob Tunney popped the first score for Edmond North in a 2-zilch win over the visiting Lions. Tunney was assisted by Josh Nunley.
Trevor Moore provided the insurance goal.
North outshot the Lions by a 10-2 margin.
The Edmond North squads will trek to Choctaw Tuesday, with the girls kicking things off at 6 p.m.
