State champion golfer Max McGreevy will play at the University of Oklahoma. McGreevy won the Class 6A state title last spring as a junior and was named the All-Edmond Golfer of the Year.
McGreevy is regarded by Golfweek as the country’s No. 11 recruit in the 2013 class.
“We are so excited to add Max McGreevy to our squad, as he brings great experience, athleticism and a great desire to win and to get better,” OU Head Coach Ryan Hybl said. “I will be looking forward to having him here with us next fall and it is always nice to bring an Oklahoman onto our roster.”
Breezy McComas will play softball at Cameron University in Lawton. The four-year starter hit .479 with an on-base percentage of .508, 58 hits, 39 runs and 18 RBIs compared to only four strikeouts her senior year. This season, she was a run-producing machine at leadoff, and stepped up to lead a young Santa Fe team as both a pitcher and position player.
Garrett Crain, a 2011 Santa Fe graduate who has been playing at Rose State College, signed to play baseball at Texas Christian University.
Crain hit .386, with 15 doubles, 4 triples, 6 home runs and 34 RBIs last season, was named to the second team 2012 Bi-State All-Conference at second base, and made the 2012 All Tournament Team in the Bi-State Championship Conference Tournament.
His Santa Fe club under coach Lonny Cobble finished 37-7, ranked No. 3 in the state, and included three future Major League Baseball draft picks and 15 players that signed with colleges to play baseball.
