JOPLIN, Mo. —
Oklahoma City University’s Arya Bahreini and Hunter Swink each broke school records Saturday in the Missouri Southern Open Invitational at Leggett and Platt Athletic Center.
Bahreini, a freshman from Edmond, finished third in the 3,000 meters with a time of eight minutes and 44 seconds. Swink, a freshman from Oklahoma City, finished third in the 800 meters with a time of 1:59.
Senior Nick Bonfiglio, of Oklahoma City, finished ninth in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:29 and Jon Torres, a freshman from Norman, posted a time of 2:08 to finish 17th in the 800 meters.
In the 600 yard run, freshman Ryan Schycker, of Schertz, Texas, finished ninth with a time of 1:21 and fellow freshman Sam Henry, of Oklahoma City, followed in 11th place with a time of 1:32.
Sophomore Raechel Brown, of Edmond, ran the women’s 3,000 meters in a time of 11:57 and finished in 11th place.
The Stars will return to action in the Central Oklahoma Invitational on Jan. 26 at the Mosier Indoor Track Facility in Norman.
