Lady 'Dogs on a roll

MUSKOGEE — The Edmond Memorial girl’s golf team took first place at the Azelea Tournament held at Muskogee Country Club on Monday, winning the event by 14 strokes.

The Lady Bulldogs had four finishers in the top 10, led by Kylie Bollenbach’s second-place finish.

Bollenbach shot a 77, while Aubrey Vaughn took third with a 78.

Sarah Ming shot an 82 to take sixth, while Mary Larsh placed ninth with an 83.

Evelyn Poteet shot an 86, as Memorial took first out of 13 teams. Memorial shot a 320 on the day.

“Sometimes the best competition is among ourselves,” Memorial head coach Mel Mallet said.

Jenks took second with a team score of 334.

Memorial, North, Santa Fe and Deer Creek girl’s golf teams will be in action on Thursday, when they compete at the Deer Creek Tournament, held at Rose Creek.
