Huskies topple Norman, 31-10

After a troubling start to the season, Edmond North looks to be back on track. The Huskies (2-3) pounded out their second victory in as many weeks, with a 31-10 win over Norman on Friday night.

North used a 21-point second quarter effort to take the lead, after trailing 8-7 at the end of the first. Quadon Henderson scored on a 45-yard run, while Cody Crabaugh hooked up with Joe Aska on a 24-yard touchdown pass. Crabaugh also ran for his second score of the night, a one-yard run with 8:05 left in the half.

Chase Funderburk scored the Huskies only points in the second half, when he drilled a 37-yard field goal with 8:07 in the third.

All of Norman’s points came off special team blunders. The Tigers went on top with a 72-yard punt return by Andre Cheatham in the first quarter, and blocked a North punt for a safety with 2:05 left in the game.

Henderson finished the night with 90 yards rushing, and Aska added another 77 on the ground.

Crabaugh threw for 217 yards and one score, hitting 13-of-22 attempts. Trent Braden led all receiver with five receptions for 71 yards.
