Saints thump Minco, 33-13

The Oklahoma Christian School’s football team picked up a key district win on the road Thursday night, downing Minco by a score of 33-13.

Jon Sikes would get things kicked off for the Saints early, capping off a Saints’ drive with a 2-yard touchdown run. Keagan Carter would add the extra point and OCS was up 7-0.

Good things would continue to happen for the Saints in the second, this time with running back Jeff Smith running into the endzone and highlighting the offensive drive with a 4-yard score. The extra point would fail but the Saints were still on top 13-0 and that is what the score would remain at the half.

The third quarter would find the Saints starting to pull away from the Bulldogs. Skylar Sikes would hook up with Jack Warren for a 30-yard score and Warren would also add another touchdown later in the quarter with an 11-yard run, and suddenly the Saints found themselves comfortably on top 26-0.

Minco struggled to move the ball against the Saints’ defense, Garrett Gee had 5 tackles and a sack for OCS, and Geoff Levy also had an outstanding effort with 5 tackles and a blocked punt. Smith would also help anchor the defense and poured in 12 tackles for the Saints.

The Bulldogs would try to mount a charge in the fourth scoring two touchdowns in the final quarter, but OCS’s combo of Sikes and Warren would hook up for another TD in the fourth and the Saints put away Minco by a final score of 33-13.

Next up OCS hosts a tough district opponent in Cashion, who is 6-1 on the year.
