Central Oklahoma took over as the new No. 1 team in the latest NCAA Division II men’s golf rankings according to the golfstat.com head-to-head standings.
It’s the first time the Bronchos have ever been ranked No. 1 in men’s golf. UCO is also No. 4 in the Golf World/Nike Golf Division II Men’s Coaches’ Poll.
“Obviously it’s a big thrill to see Central Oklahoma as the number one team in the nation,” veteran head coach Dax Johnston said. “It means a lot to our program and shows how far we’ve come, but we have to keep it in perspective and realize it’s not going to win us any tournaments.”
The Bronchos just completed a fantastic fall campaign, winning three titles in five tournaments with finishes of second and third in the other two.
