The No. 14-ranked Putnam City North girls upset No. 8 Edmond North 48-42 on Tuesday night at the Siberian Gym, forcing the Lady Huskies into several turnovers.
The Lady Panthers (5-2) led by as many as 11 points in the fourth quarter, but a late rally by Edmond North cut the deficit to 43-40 with 1:09 remaining.
Following a basket and a free throw by TaNita Dewberry, Husky senior Caroline Collins drained a 3-pointer to make it 43-36.
Elizabeth Donohoe then hit Dewberry with a nice assist down low cutting the Lady Panthers lead to 43-38. Natalie Colton followed with a pair of free throws, and the lead was trimmed to three points.
PC North countered with free throws on the other end, but Donohoe answered with a bucket as the Lady Panthers lead was 45-42 with 26.9 left.
Edmond North forced a turnover and Colton took off with the ball to the other end, and appeared to have been fouled as she was knocked down to the court, but no whistle was blown, sealing the Lady Huskies fate.
PC North went 3-of-4 at the line in the final 23 seconds to nab the win.
Edmond North trailed throughout, as PC North led 24-14 at the break.
The Lady Huskies got a good outing from Dewberry who finished with a team-high 16 points. Donohoe finished with 10.
North will try to rebound at the Ada Tournament which begins on Thursday.
