OKLAHOMA CITY — Elizabeth Donohoe scored a game-high 18 points and pulled down 12 rebounds as Edmond North rolled to a 69-44 win over Putnam City North on Thursday night.
"We really wanted to get a win tonight, especially since they were the last team to beat us," North head coach Kevin Korstjens said. "The last two wee
ks we've been really good on defense, and everyone has confidence on the offensive side of the ball."
The Lady Huskies used a 13-4 run in the second quarter to pull away, while the reserves came in early to finish off the Lady Panthers.
Rachel Wood, Natalie Colton, and Anna Kimsey, each had three-pointers during the run, while Donohoe had a couple of tough baskets in the paint.North went into the half holding a 38-27 lead.
North continued its success into the third quarter, where they finished with a 13-2 run. Six of those points came from Kimsey, while TaNita Dewberry hit a shot at the buzzer to give the Lady Huskies a 55-31 lead.
Wood added her second 3-pointer of the contest to start the fourth quarter, as the Lady Huskies were well on their way to a win.
Kimsey finished with 13 points and four rebounds, while TaNita Dewberry had six points and eight boards. Collins finished with eight points, while Kelsey Phillhower had five points and four rebounds.
The Lady Huskies will host Santa Fe tonight at 6:15.
