OKLA. CITY —
After extending her remarkable streak of top 10 finishes, Oklahoma Christian’s Anna Arrese Cortadellas was honored Wednesday as the Heartland Conference women’s golf player of the week.
The junior from Barcelona, Spain, tied for fourth in the RCB UCO Classic at Lincoln Park Golf Club’s East Course, which ended Tuesday. Arrese Cortadellas fired an even-par 71 in the final round to finish at 4-over for the tournament.
In doing so, she led the Lady Eagles to a runner-up finish in a stacked field that included four teams ranked in the current Golf World/Women’s Golf Coaches Association NCAA Division II coaches poll.
Her top 10 individual finish was the 20th of her collegiate career in as many tournaments. She ranks second in the Heartland Conference in stroke average this fall at 73.6.
It’s the third time in her career that Arrese Cortadellas has been named as the Heartland Conference player of the week, as she accomplished the feat twice as a sophomore. As a freshman, she also twice earned Sooner Athletic Conference player of the week honors.
She is the second Oklahoma Christian golfer to earn the Heartland weekly award this fall, joining sophomore Audrey Meisch.
