LUTHER — All scoring need for victory took place in the first half as Oklahoma Christian clobbered Luther 28-6 on the road Friday night in the opening half alone. Both teams played to a 14-14 second half for the 42-20 OCS final victory.

Luther was almost even at the start of the second quarter, trailing just 7-6, but that’s when the Saints put their engines in gear to rip off the final 21 points for a the lopsided victory.

Running back Luke Frankfurt, who totalled 91 yards on the ground on just eight carries in half No. 1, picked up the first two touchdowns in the second quarter on runs of 37 and one yard(s).

Teammate Connor Sikes hauled in a 29-yard pass from Thomas Qualls for the 28-6 lead heading into the break. It was Sikes who opened the scoring in the first with a 31-yard run to pay dirt. He had two receptions for 87 yards in the half.

Saint kicker Jack Markmiller was a perfect 6-for-6 on point-after-touchdown attempts.

In the latter half, Frankfurt scored on a 74-yard run and Qualls connected with Kade VanMeter for a 99-yard strike.
